John Chapter 1 vs. 10-12: He (Jesus) was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God... It amazes me that sin is so powerful that it could make us not even recognize the One who createc us. But what is even more amazing, is that once we accept Jesus, we have victory over that power, and we have so much more power with Christ than sin could ever have! vs. 7-10: Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet. They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now." How cool! I def. want to be Jesus' servant like these servants. They did as Jesus said without hesitation (or so it seems) and they did it fully ("filled them to the brim). Also, they knew where it came from, knew it wasn't in there own power. |
